About Brooklyn YSA

The young single adult (YSA ages 18 to 35) community in Brooklyn, New York, is a vibrant community of members and friends of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a community we support and encourage each other as we strive to live as disciples of Jesus Christ through worship and social activities. 


The Brooklyn YSA Community strives to strengthen, support, and uplift all of its members through the following practices:


  • Sunday worship services 
  • Other Sunday meetings, such as frequent linger-longer meals
  • Gospel study at weekday institute classes
  • Regular dinner-and-game nights
  • Weekly activities planned to strengthen relationships with other YSAs and provide opportunities to learn develop important life skills
  • Opportunities to serve and develop Christ-like empathy and leadership skills
  • Self-reliance offerings, including

                  2. Education for Better Work

                  3. Starting and Growing My Business

                  4. Personal Finances

                  5. Emotional Resilience


We strive to provide a wholesome Christ-centered environment that encourages and supports personal growth and development in everything we do. The leadership of the Brooklyn YSA Community is almost exclusively young single adults participating on a volunteer basis. The Community welcomes newcomers and seasoned members to participate together to build and strengthen individual members and the larger community. 


The Brooklyn YSA Community ranges from college students to young professionals pursuing education and careers in fields ranging from performing arts to law and finance to health care and education and much more. 


The Brooklyn YSA proudly reflects and embraces the reputation of its home borough as the most interesting, diverse, and coolest place on the planet, and our enthusiasm, diversity, and interests proudly contribute to that reputation. 


We welcome all young single adults (ages 18 to 35) who share our common interests. We invite you to join us at any worship service or other event.
